Qualifications for Commission Applicants
- Timely completion of applications by deadline - Phase 1 application
deadline was February 16, 2010.
THE BUREAU OF STATE AUDITS IS NO LONGER RECEIVING
PHASE 1 APPLICATIONS
- Have been continuously registered in California with the same
political party, or with no political party, for the five years immediately
prior to being appointed to the commission
- Have voted in at least two of the last three statewide general elections
In addition, a panel of state auditors will assess applicants’ qualifications
based on their:
- Relevant analytic skills
- Ability to be impartial
- Appreciation for California’s diverse demographics and geography
In addition, you should be aware that Commissioners will be restricted
from certain activities,including some public offices, for either five or
10 years after being appointed.
California’s State Bureau of Audits is managing the selection process
and has created a special website for applicants. Go to www.WeDrawTheLines.ca.gov to learn more about this critical process,
but remember, time is running out!
The deadline for Phase 2 applications is April 19 , only a few weeks away.
